Is America Ready for a Viable Third Party?

We have to ask ourselves if the two party system that has ruled our country for centuries is working for current America. It seems as if we have slowly advanced into a situation that is impossible to progress any agenda that benefits United States Citizens. The Democrats have decided to talk about how bad the Republican Nominee is, and quite frankly, I’m not sure they’re incorrect. The last statements made by Mr. Trump are despicable and sicken me. Now, we’re left with Hillary Clinton who I believe, through listening to some congressional hearings that evidence regarding emails was not only erased, but devices destroyed, as if they were in a New York City Mafia gang. I’ve never missed voting in a presidential election and I don’t intend to miss this one either. Can we just eliminate the presidential choices and vote for the Vice President?

Why can’t we have a party that worries more about children, including those that haven’t been born yet? Why can’t we have a party that loves our elderly and ensures that they are taken care of after working their entire lives? Why can’t we have a party that can make sure any child in this great country will not go without food, water or a roof over their head? Why can’t we have a party that pays women for the work that they do and does not punish them for being mothers? Why can’t we have a party that secures our borders, in a humane manner that does not degrade our neighbors and friends? Why can’t we have a party that creates a task force to locate the illegal immigrants who are working hard, paying taxes and would be good citizens and find them a pathway to citizenship? That same task force can round up those illegal immigrants that are gang members, murderers, rapists, thieves, and losers to send them packing back to wherever they came from. Why can’t we have a party that all races work together without any doubt that they can trust each other? Also, why can’t we have a party that when something happens, we can talk about it, solve the problem, and move on so it is less likely to happen again? How about a Ginsberg - Scalia way of working things out? Why can’t we have a party that supports our police officers, school teachers, fire fighters, EMT’s and other public service workers? Why can’t we have a party that builds our defense to a level that citizens feel safe at home, and fairly safe abroad? Have we created these monsters and forced them to act like this in order to be elected? And have we all lost respect for each other by turning these elections into celebrity wrestling matches?

I may be an eternal optimist, but I really believe that all Americans, Democrats and Republicans, are basically wanting the same things I’ve discussed. I know a couple of things are somewhat controversial, but for the most part, we all are wanting these fundamental rights for our country. Where we differ is the path taken to accomplish these freedoms.

It’s so simple. If we as citizens “Do Good”, we will continue to succeed and this country will always be the Greatest Country in the World. It’s kind of like my Daddy told me, “Son, you’ve got to treat people with dignity as long as they’ll let you and if they won’t let you, we’ll figure something else out”. We’ve got to have a party of love and inevitably there will be many that will not go along, but like Daddy said, we’ll deal with them.

I’m not sure that these two parties haven’t trekked into a destination of no return. Are we actually to a place in history where we really need to replace every person in office and start all over?

We’re never going to all agree completely on all issues, but we can all work together to make the country better. I truly believe that most people lean toward conservative values, but the Republicans have managed to make themselves look like self-centered, hate filled politicians while the Democrats have actually politicized race relations and economic imbalance to a point that it has harmed those citizens they are pretending to protect.
